An original margarita recipe from Baja California Sur

Mexican margarita folklore says the very first margarita was made with Damiana Liqueur in the 1930’s. Damiana, a native flower of Baja, was originally used by indigenous cultures of Mexico to improve the body’s functionality and relieve symptoms like anxiety, stress and fatigue. Damiana is also esteemed an aphrodisiac.

Damiana Margarita

  • 1.2 oz. Reposado

  • 1.2 oz. Damiana Liqueur

  • .5 oz. Simple syrup

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Splash of orange juice

Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Serve on the rocks with a salted rim.
